What is a DoD Dialogue Circle?

It's a gathering people in your community to watch the replay of “An Historic Reckoning: Movement Leaders Respond;” in which 4 Indigenous and Black movement partners (Pat McCabe, Tela Troge, Michelle Schenandoah, and Çaca Yvaire) discuss what the Doctrine of Discovery — and it's repudiation by the Vatican — means for them, their communities, and the world. After watching the replay, the group is invited into honest reflection and discussion with the help of our Dialogue Circle Host Kit.

This is just the beginning of more resources, events, and opportunities for witnessing, learning, and taking concrete action as we grapple with this legacy. Catholic communities are uniquely responsible and equipped to make sure that this moment becomes an opportunity for real change; and the first step is bringing our communities onboard. To listen, learn, and grow collective awareness about the Doctrine right where we are, and build community that is dedicated to making this repudiation truly reparative.

Thank you for your work and commitment. Can't wait to hear about how your dialogue circle goes!
