Take the Phone Bank Pledge for Maine
Proven fact
Phone banks are the most powerful way to get votes into the ballot box — especially in a COVID world.
We’re calling Democratic voters in swing states. Our goals?
- Help them register to vote and request mail-in ballots
- Encourage them to vote early
- Recruit poll workers and observers to protect the vote
You won’t be calling alone. You’ll spend about two hours per shift on Zoom with like-minded peers who are also taking action at this critical moment.
Volunteer two hours. Or four. Or more.
Use the from on the right to pledge how many two-hour shifts you’ll join. It’s best to commit to at least one shift per week. The more you do it, the more effective you become. (Remember, you are pledging shifts, not hours.)
Fill in your preferences (we already selected your state based on the choice you made earlier)
Pick some shifts. Today we’ll give you an opportunity to sign up for one or more phone banks shifts in your chosen state. We’ll also keep you informed by email so you can easily find the most convenient options.
If we all pitch in, together we can take back our government!
Wondering about training? Or being a captain?
Training. If you are new to phone banking, don’t worry about learning how the calling systems work. After you pledge, we will direct you towards brief training sessions where you can even get hints on overcoming shyness or anxiety. We offer many training sessions each week. And most phone bank teams do refresher training before each shift.
You can help even more by being a phone bank captain. Captains communicate each week’s mission to the team, schedule and run the Zoom meetings, and report back calling results. Captains spend about 30-60 minutes extra per week beyond the actual phone bank shifts. We offer a special two-hour training session on being a captain.
