I am ready to build a new behavioral health system in New Jersey!
With more than 50,000 members providing behavioral health and substance use disorder services, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is the largest behavioral health workers union in the country.
No matter where we provide care – in behavioral health facilities, residential treatment centers, or outpatient clinics – behavioral health professionals wake up every day committed to improving the lives of people who are affected by mental illness and substance use disorders. While our titles and their place in the continuity of care may vary, workers like Licensed Professional Counselors, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Residential Counselors, Direct Care Staff, Social Workers and Case Managers, are all an essential part of providing behavioral health care for the individuals, groups, and families they’ve supported, assessed, and diagnosed.
We are the heart of behavioral health in New Jersey, we are ready to build a better tomorrow and we hope you will join us!
