What is a Tenant Council?
A tenant council or tenant association is group of tenants who work together to build community and take collective action against their landlord. Councils organize to improve their conditions, empower each other to understand their rights and legal protections, and win their demands. This can include fighting for repairs and maintenance, against rent increases and eviction, and against landlord retaliation.
