Join the Migration With Dignity campaign

Everybody in this country, no matter where we come from, deserves stability, good working conditions, a living wage, access to a safety net, and the ability to build a home, family, and community. But, many of our friends, colleagues, and neighbours face a hostile, expensive and confusing migration system.

Right now, Australia’s migration system keeps many migrants on temporary visas without access to healthcare, workers’ rights or a clear pathway to settle and make this country their home. This is an exploitative system that is out of step with the values of our communities and doesn’t acknowledge the sacrifice that migrants make to contribute to our society.

That’s why we’re campaigning to radically change the migration system and gear it towards one with dignity. To do this we are putting the voices of migrants with lived experience front and centre. We have heard people’s experiences with a system that is expensive to access, confusing to navigate and exploitative in nature. We need to radically change this system now by doing things like creating clearer and more direct pathways to permanency, increasing access to social services, removing policies that allow employers to exploit migrants, and reuniting migrants with their families.

We can make this a reality. We know that change is needed and that the Albanese government is open to significant reforms. Now, we need to ensure that the voices of migrants with lived experience are heard and amplified. Together, we can create the change that will strengthen our communities and ensure that current and future migrants to this country are treated fairly and with the dignity that we all deserve. You can help to make this a reality by joining and growing our campaign for Migration with Dignity.
