In 2015 and 2016, we watched Bernie Sanders ask us all for a political revolution. So we went out, and we became a political revolution. That is the politics of our generation. Regular people, young people, stepping up, and owning their leadership. As we do that, the politicians of the era before us, who have failed us? They may need to step down.

But some of them, bold leaders of courage and wisdom, will continue to fight for us. Bernie Sanders is one of those bold leaders. In 2020, Sunrise is going to turn out the youth vote to elect Bernie Sanders to be the next president of the United States and make the Green New Deal a reality in 2021. But Bernie Sanders is not looking to be a leader; he's looking to create an army of leaders. Bernie Sanders is not going to win a Green New Deal by playing golf with Mitch McConnell. He's going to be partnering with thousands of young leaders occupying Mitch McConnell's office.

They may say "oh, that's naive, that's impossible." Well, we're done hearing what's impossible. As a society, we have operated from a place of cynicism for quite awhile, and it hasn't worked out for us. So what if for one generation, we tried to wage a militant optimism? We're going to make the status quo impossible, and make a better world inevitable.

We are becoming those young leaders. We are training those young leaders. We are Sunrise. Join the political revolution.
