Movimiento Cosecha's Worker Protection Team will be working towards providing answers to legal questions, preparing our communities, and coordinating financial and legal support for strikers.

We envision networks of local coordinators, researchers, and lawyers supporting immigrants in the fight for permanent protection, dignity, and respect!

Here is a breakdown of the circles being created within the Worker Protection team to support participants of the strike. Pick one (or multiple) and tell us more about your experience:

  • Legal Support - If you are an attorney that wants to volunteer your services to May 1st strikers who have been affected by their participation and need representation.
  • Outreach - We need help recruiting pro bono legal support, researchers, and other service providers to grow our team in your city and nationwide.
  • Research - Workers in each state will be facing unique, localized legal challenges. We are looking for attorneys, law students, and faculty to put in the time to provide them with comprehensive information and contribute to FAQ materials.
  • Strike Fund - Financial support for those who are dismissed from their jobs or need to pay legal fees will be crucial. We need volunteers to help define protocols and set up the fund.

  • Alcance - Necesitamos ayuda reclutando apoyo legal pro bono, investigadores y otros proveedores de servicios para hacer crecer nuestro equipo en su ciudad y al nivel nacional.
  • Investigación - Los trabajadores de cada estado enfrentarán desafíos legales únicos y localizados. Estamos buscando abogados, estudiantes de derecho, y profesores de leyes para dedicar su tiempo para proporcionar información, materiales y contribuir a las preguntas frecuentes.
  • Fondo para la huelga - El apoyo financiero para aquellos que son despedidos de sus puestos de trabajo o la necesidad de pagar los gastos legales será crucial. Necesitamos voluntarios para ayudar a definir protocolos y establecer el fondo.
