Download the Just Transition Integrated Capital Fund Investment Policy Statement

Since the Just Transition Integrated Capital Fund (JTIC Fund) Governing Board members came together as a new model for philanthropy, they have been working to get at the root of where they can shift power and capital to movements. One of their latest visionary endeavors is drafting and adopting an Investment Policy Statement that is unlike any other.

The IPS outlines the investment strategies, priorities, and terms for the JTIC Fund, which is a democratically controlled integrated capital fund governed by five movement partners. Their goal is to move endowed assets to BIPOC and working class controlled funds and grassroots projects through non-extractive financing in the form of 0% loans and accompanying grants.

Check out the JTIC Fund IPS to learn how they are reimagining returns, financial and social impact, risk mitigation, and fiduciary responsibilities for trustees and investment committee members.
Illustrated by Taslim Van Hattum, the graphic above says, "Invite people into possibility / Invite them to shift power / Rematriation"

We hope this will serve as an open-source learning tool for other democratically controlled investment funds and philanthropic institutions exploring how they are going to define their investment policies.
