Kentucky Accountability Survey – Make Your Voice Heard

Working people will be watching when Gov.-elect Matt Bevin takes office in a few weeks. Throughout the campaign, he advocated for harmful anti-worker laws that would undercut good jobs. He refused to support raising the minimum wage and he called for dismantling Kynect. That’s why we’re launching an effort to hold Bevin accountable.

Will you take our survey and tell us what matters most to you?

Help us prioritize. What is your top issue for Matt Bevin to address when he takes office?

Support Good Jobs

Good jobs that pay a decent living wage would do a lot for our state’s economy and help make sure families can make ends meet. Our incomes haven’t kept up with rising costs, and raising the minimum wage will help us achieve economic stability.

Promote Job Training

We need more access to job training such as apprenticeships and vocational school programs to prepare young people to join the workforce. We know that children who have access to high-quality early learning experiences are more likely to stay in school, and expanding high-quality pre-K programs lays the path to good-paying jobs.

Create Retraining Programs and Apprenticeships

Retraining programs are an asset for working people looking to sharpen their skills, especially former coal miners who want to transition into new industries like clean energy. Our governor should support agencies like KentuckianaWorks in Louisville that offer free services for workers seeking new careers in high-demand industries like health care and IT.

Protect Our Health Care

Our state has been a national leader in providing access to affordable health care, and we can't afford to go back. Thanks to the success of Kynect and Medicaid expansion, fewer people are uninsured, and more jobs have been created, with economists projecting a $30 billion boost to the economy from Medicaid expansion alone.
