Make 2 Quick Calls To Cut Packaging Waste by 50% in NYS!

Call to help NYS cut packaging waste in half, reduce climate change emissions, protect environmental justice communities and more.

Please make two critical phone calls today to urge your state legislators to pass The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act, a critical bill to reduce plastic pollution, packaging waste, climate emissions and toxic chemicals, and give recycling a big boost. Hurry! The legislative session is short and ends on June 6.

1. Dial the Senate Switchboard at (518) 455-2800 and ask to be connected to your Senator’s office. If you’re not sure who your Senator is, click here to look them up.

When someone picks up, you can use this short script:

“Hi, my name is NAME and I’m calling from YOUR TOWN/CITY. I’m calling to urge the Senator to please co-sponsor The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act (S4246-b) and work to pass it ASAP this session. This bill is the key to reducing packaging waste, cutting climate change emissions, boosting recycling, and protecting environmental justice communities. I hope the Senator will co-sponsor S4246-b and make passing it a top priority this session. Senator Harckham is the lead sponsor on the Packaging Reduction Bill if the Senator has any questions about it.”

Thank the person for taking your call. They may ask you to verify your address, etc.

2. Then hang up and dial the Assembly Switchboard at 518-455-4100 and ask to be connected to your Assemblymember’s office. If you’re not sure who your Assemblymember is, click here to look them up.

Hi, my name is NAME and I’m calling from YOUR TOWN/CITY. I’m calling to urge the Assemblymember to please co-sponsor The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Act (A5322-b) and work to pass it ASAP this session.
