Progressive leaders have listened to our calls for cooperation and are now agreeing to focus their campaigning.

They know that given the electoral landscape in Scotland, Labour needs to win 124 seats with a poll lead of more than 12% for a majority of just one. It means progressive parties are going to have to work together and stop splitting the vote.

But we need much more. We need to make it meaningful. So Compass is bringing together progressive activists across the country to:

1. Ask the Labour Party to make this real by letting CLPs decide whether to stand.

Having launched earlier this year, we already have 150 people working in over 100 CLPs to start a national conversation about what winning a progressive government would take – and why, to ensure our current government can not wreak such havoc again, Labour should #OnlyStandToWin.

2. Activate the progressive majority in target seats.

We started 2021 with eight Compass local groups. We ended the year with over 40, and that trajectory has not slowed down in 2022! These groups are working to activate and engage progressive folks up and down the country, building the alliances on the ground that facilitate parties working together.

3. Assemble the progressive alliance across the country by showing the huge policy overlap between progressive parties. Only through building a better politics can we build a better society.
