Join March for Our Lives: 50 Miles More
The time is now to take action on gun reform! Standing in solidarity with the Parkland students and taking inspiration from the 54-mile Selma to Montgomery march for civil rights, we are keeping the national spotlight on gun reform with a four-day 50 mile march from Madison, WI, to Speaker Paul Ryan’s hometown of Janesville. With this march we are singling out Paul Ryan and urging him to lead Congress in taking immediate action to save lives by enacting sensible gun reform.
We are tired of waiting. Adults have said that nothing can be done, but students are finding a way. It is our time as the next generation to recognize and seize our power, to join our voices together and demand real and visible change. And we refuse to back down.
MARCH DETAILS
After the Wisconsin March For Our Lives events end on the 24th, we will be bussing students in from around the state to Madison. The morning of the 25th we will start the 50-mile, four day trek to Janesville, arriving on the 28th. We are inviting everyone, of any age, to Traxler Park on the 28th at noon to welcome us into Janesville. We are hoping to have an 1000+ turnout so if you can’t make the whole march or you know others who want to join, everyone is invited on the 28th!
