Whether they’re competing to serve on their local school board, park & rec district, or port commission, our candidates are running to ensure that government is accountable to the people.

Alex Diaz Rios, Portland Community College Board, Zone 7
Alex is a passionate advocate for education as a first-generation college graduate and public-school teacher. Alex currently teaches social studies and college/career readiness at Westview High School and CREATE Alternative School. As a lifelong resident of Washington County and a former PCC student, Alex understands the growth and challenges facing our community.

See Eun Kim, Hillsboro School Board, Zone 4
See Eun is a passionate advocate for children’s rights. As a former elementary school teacher, See Eun hopes to bring her unique perspective as an educator, child advocate, and community member to the decisions that ultimately impact the classroom and shape the future of our community. See Eun proudly comes from a family of Korean-Americans. - Lisa Allen, Hillsboro School Board, Zone 5Lisa Allen has been the Hillsboro School Board Chair since 2017. She began her career as a teacher before moving into the nonprofit sector and has a Master of Arts in Teaching. She has two children who attend Hillsboro's dual-language program. Lisa is the advocate our young people need, to fight for full funding and ensure that robust access to CTE is available to all students, enabling them to access living-wage jobs after graduation whether or not they choose college.
Yadira Martinez, Hillsboro School Board, Zone 7
Yadira Martinez grew up in Hillsboro and attended K-12 in the Hillsboro School District and has 3 children that are currently attending and/or graduated from the district. Yadira experienced many of the challenges of being educated in a system that was not designed for someone like her: Hillsboro School District is a minority majority district meaning more that half of
the 20,000 students that attend identify as non-white and that is definitely not seen in the Leadership. Yadira wants that changed.
Gigi Olguin, Tigard-Tualatin School Board, Zone 2
Gigi is a voice for underrepresented communities throughout the Tigard-Tualatin School District. She comes from a humble past that has motivated her to fight the struggles of today for the kids of tomorrow. Gigi Olguin believes in the power of education and how it can transform our communities, and she understands the importance of representation.Narce Rodriguez, Forest Grove School Board, Zone 5
Narce is a long-time resident and active community member of the Cornelius/ Forest Grove area. She raised her three daughters in this district. Narce values diversity and strongly believes that we should be celebrating the things that make us different.Ashley Hartmeier-Prigg, Tualatin Hills Parks & Rec, District 3
Ashley Hartmeier-Prigg was born and raised in Washington County. She and her siblings grew up taking various classes through THPRD. Ashley works as a Business Operations Manager at Nike, and prior to her Nike career, she practiced law. The OWFP endorsement matters to her because it reinforces to the community that she’s willing to work for, represent, and help create a district that strengthens the community.Heidi Edwards, Tualatin Hills Parks & Rec, District 4
Heidi is the mother of two teenagers. She’s worked for PCC since 2000 and has been a union leader for the past 10 years. She currently serves as Vice-Chair for the Beaverton School Board Budget Committee and Governor-appointed Commissioner for Oregon Volunteers. Heidi serves on THPRD’s Nature & Trails Advisory Committee and was a top finalist for two recent THPRD Board appointments.Tya Ping, Tualatin Hills Parks & Rec, District 5
Tya Ping is a working mother of three young children, a health care provider, a community volunteer, and a longtime resident of Washington County who grew up enjoying Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District’s (THPRD) parks and programs. Tya shares progressive values that give her the strength to push forward, fight harder, and help ensure the voices of working families are heard.
