NHS health data: what matters to you?
The government has a plan to create a huge ‘Federated Data Platform’ for our health data in the NHS. If it goes ahead as envisaged, the FDP will be the largest single point of access to NHS patient data this country has ever seen.
We know that NHS patients care deeply about how their health data is used and who has access to it. We go to the doctor to share our worries, our fears, and our pain – so having trust that the conversation is private is critical. Many more worry that corporate control of our health data will mean our public health service is falling into the ever-tighter grip of private companies.
That's why we are gathering testimonials from people across the country. If you rely on the NHS, we want to hear from you about why you're worried, and how the government's plans to centralise your health data and allow a profit-making company to handle it might impact how you feel about accessing healthcare. If you have a testimonial to share, add it here - long or short.
