NY-10 Neighbors: Sign up to pitch in!

We are excited to welcome you into NY-10 Neighbors. Together, we will build community and political awareness to demand that Rep. Dan Goldman and any future representative of the NY-10 Congressional District support:

  • An immediate permanent ceasefire in Gaza
  • An end to US military funding to Israel
  • The release of all political prisoners & hostages
  • An end to the siege on Gaza, occupation, & apartheid

Please review the NY-10 Neighbors mission and shared commitments below. The mission and shared commitments are the common principles that guide our decision-making and actions.

If you also share our commitments, please join us to hold our elected officials accountable and support the the inherent dignity, humanity, and right to self-determination of Palestinians and all people!

Mission: NY-10 Neighbors is a collective of Congressional District NY-10 residents coming together to stand against the occupation of Palestine and the genocide of Palestinians. Through political education and collective action with our neighbors, we build community and demand that our congressional representatives end U.S. support for Israel’s occupation, apartheid, and war crimes. NY-10 Neighbors believes in the power of our community to hold our elected officials accountable until U.S. policies respect the inherent dignity, humanity, and right to self-determination of Palestinians and all people. (adopted on March 25, 2025)

As NY-10 Neighbors, we share the following commitments:

Anti-zionism. We oppose racism in all forms, including Zionism. Zionism is the ideology that holds that Israel should be a Jewish-only state and exclude the original Palestinian inhabitants. Any state that defines itself on these terms must necessarily support racial apartheid policies and ethnic cleansing, both of which Israel has engaged in since its founding. Thus, we hold that Zionism is a practice of racism, colonialism, violence, and land theft. Our collective is anti-Zionist. We reject the idea that support for Palestinian liberation, anti-Zionism, or criticism of the Israeli state is inherently anti-Semitic.

Support BDS. Settler colonialism, apartheid, and occupation over the Palestinian people is only possible because of international support. Governments fail to hold Israel to account, while corporations and institutions across the world help Israel to oppress Palestinians. We support the global BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) movement that effectively challenges international support for Israeli apartheid and settler-colonialism. NY-10 Neighbors is answering Palestinian civil society’s call to pressure our policymakers to fulfill their obligations under international law and impose embargoes and sanctions against Israel.

Interconnectedness of liberation struggles. NY-10 Neighbors understands the struggle for Palestinian freedom to be aligned with anti-colonial, anti-fascist and anti-imperialist movements and struggles in many parts of the world. These include indigenous land rights, immigrant rights, climate justice, reproductive justice, queer, trans and all LGBTQIA+ rights, workers’ rights, disability justice, Black liberation, gender and sexual freedom, youth liberation, and environmental struggles.

We stand against all forms of racism. NY-10 Neighbors stands against anti-semitism, anti-Muslim hate, anti-Palestinian hate, anti-Black racism, anti-Asian racism, and all forms of racism.

We are committed to working with all residents of NY-10 District, in particular centering Palestinian members of our community. We see the struggle to support Palestine as linked to local struggles in the NY-10 District for immigrant rights, housing justice, reproductive rights, worker rights, gender and sexual freedom, environmental justice, disability rights and safety without police violence.

Inclusive participation. As a volunteer collective of neighbors with diverse life experiences, NY-10 is committed to principled decision-making to make a local contribution to interconnected struggles for Palestinian freedom and justice. We strive to strengthen grassroots advocacy through open communication, transparency, and inclusive practice that do not replicate or recreate the same systems of oppression that we are fighting to topple.
