Presidential Inaugural Committee MLK Day of Service Host Form

Thank you for your interest in partnering with the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) for the National Day of Service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Health and Safety Agreement:

Given the impact of COVID-19 across the country, service organizations and volunteer leaders should strive to host virtual opportunities for volunteers to serve impactfully and safely. In-person service activities should be limited in scope and capacity, and follow CDC, state, and local guidelines.

If you would like to host a service event with an in-person component, please consider hosting a drive thru or contactless service event in which a majority of participants can stay in their car or have limited contact with others.

We all have a personal responsibility to slow the spread of the pandemic and eliminate the virus as quickly as possible. All events hosted in partnership with the PIC on the National Day of Service must comply with the following guidelines as well as the most up-to-date CDC and local health and safety guidance. Those guidelines could include indoor and outdoor gathering and capacity limits, social distancing, and travel restrictions. More guidance from the CDC can be found here.

  • Masks are required for all participants at all times, including while participating in outdoor activities.
  • Refrain from eating or drinking as much as possible. When you do please ensure that everyone is at least 15 feet away from anyone else.
  • Participants must maintain six (6) to ten (10) feet of separation from other people at all times.
  • Participants should wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom or touching high touch surfaces. When washing hands is not possible use hand sanitizer. Event hosts should provide hand sanitizer to participants to use.
  • Clean and disinfect regularly during the event. -If handling food, follow the CDCs steps for food safety carefully.
  • All attendees should be asked the COVID-19 symptoms questionnaire before participating.
  • Where possible, event hosts should place physical markers on the ground to ensure social distancing
  • If in cars, cars should be parked with 10 ft between them.
  • If not in cars, households should at minimum remain 10 ft apart.
