Since March 2014, people across Australia have been putting prayer and nonviolent love in action, doing ‘sit-ins’ inside their local politicians’ offices until they see a compassionate approach to asylum seekers.

Love Makes A Way is offering this introductory training for this ongoing movement of Christians. This workshop will INTRODUCE you to Christian Nonviolence in the tradition of Jesus, Tutu and King. It will TRAIN you in Nonviolent Direct Action and EQUIP you to take part in a LMAW action.

These workshops will cover why people take nonviolent action, its power as an effective means of social change and as a way of life, explore our fears about taking action, explain what happens if you get arrested for civil disobedience (which is a subset of NVDA), showcase stories of ordinary faithful people acting powerfully against injustices, and give you a few chances to role play taking action yourselves.
