Resist Here Fall Training Series

Trainings will be every Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm-6:30pm EST. Not every training will take up the full time, but trainers will stay available the entire time to answer participants' questions.


Training Schedule Oct. 1 - Nov. 19

October 1: Intro: Learn how to navigate organizing spaces, materials, and resources. You'll also gain an understanding of what effective activism looks like from a general perspective.

October 8: Structure and Protocol: Learn how to run organizing meetings and get suggestions for best practices for movement building.

October 15th: Make a Joyful Noise: The importance of chants and songs in movement building.

October 22: Action Planning: An overview of different tactics and strategies to consider when planning actions and mobilizations.

October 29: Know Your Rights: Learn your rights as an activist and a citizen, and come away with best practices for dealing with law enforcement.
Led by Bina Ahmad, Staff Attorney at Legal Aid Society.

November 5: Logistics: Participants will come away with the different resources needed to organize a large or small scale mobilizations. Including what support roles are necessary for success.

November 12: Facebook Live. Learn how to use Facebook Live for actions to generate more attention across social media.
Led by Ericka Persson, Working Families Party

November 19: Self-Care: Participants will learn how to sustain themselves doing movement work and identify stages of burnout.
