Scotland has the chance to lead the world on basic income: pledge your support for a Scottish basic income
A basic income could alleviate poverty, improve well-being and sit at the centre of a social renewal of Scotland.
The study led by four local authorities - Glasgow, Edinburgh, North Ayrshire and Fife - and funded by Scottish Government explored a Scottish basic income pilot. The final report shows that pilots are a desirable next step.
It also outlines barriers to implementation that require primary legislation and regulation changes to be made by the DWP and HMRC in Westminster.
Scotland can put this transformative policy at the heart of its future. To make this happen we must demonstrate our support and encourage politicians to work collaboratively and strategically to remove the barriers to a Scottish Basic Income.
