Sign if you agree: Neil Gorsuch is too extreme for the Supreme Court. Block his appointment.

Donald Trump announced Tuesday, January 31 that Neil Gorsuch would be his nominee for the vacant seat on the Supreme Court.

By all accounts -- including those of the religious right and anti-government think tanks -- Gorsuch is a right-wing ideologue.

Gorsuch sided with religious employers seeking to limit their employees’ rights to birth control coverage in the lower court decision in Hobby Lobby. Religious liberty is where the fight for LGBTQ rights and freedoms will be fought but also has implications for other marginalized people.

He has never ruled directly on Roe v. Wade, but in his book, The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia, he wrote, “Human life is fundamentally and inherently valuable,” and that “the intentional taking of human life by private persons is always wrong.” He would likely apply this stance to abortion and reproductive rights.

He tried to invoke such an unusual process for a Planned Parenthood hearing -- suggesting that he is willing to bend the rules in order to push his ideology on the bench.

He thinks the judicial branch should interpret statutes for regulatory agencies -- curtailing federal agencies rule-making abilities. A cause for concern among environmental advocates.

If Gorsuch is confirmed to the Supreme Court, Republicans and their amoral, dangerous agenda would go unchecked. What's more, Trump's disgusting legacy could extend into the lives of our grandchildren and great- grandchildren. We cannot allow that to happen.
