Sign if you agree: NO citizenship question on the 2020 census

The Trump administration wants to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census, which will greatly harm immigrants and communities of color.

The census counts the number of people living in the U.S. and uses that information to allocate federal funding, draw up congressional districts, and determine how many seats each state gets in the House of Representatives.

Communities of color, including undocumented immigrants, have been historically undercounted. A citizenship question will drive counts down even more, robbing these communities of federal funding for schools, infrastructure, hospitals, the Children's Health Insurance Program, food assistance, public transit, and more.

The majority of undocumented immigrants live in large metropolitan areas. If those metro areas significantly lose population, they will lose congressional seats, giving immigrants even less power to fight against racist immigration policy.

We must fight now to make sure everyone gets counted in 2020, regardless of immigration status.
