After the school shooting in Parkland, Florida that killed 17 students and teachers, Donald Trump has a solution to our gun crisis: arm the teachers.

That is idiotic on so many levels. Giving teachers a gun would only escalate violence in schools, leading to more deaths. And it would cost an estimated $1 billion.

The latter is truly insulting, when you consider how teachers routinely have to dig into their pockets to adequately supply their classrooms–one even turned to panhandling.

Republicans won't pay for enough pens and paper, but now they want to pay for Glocks.
