Every year, billions of dollars of lawfully levied taxes are not paid―and because of chronic underfunding, the IRS doesn’t have the resources to track down unpaid taxes.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework (which they’re calling ‘the BIF’ on Capitol HIll) had a provision to fund the IRS to enforce the existing laws―but now the Republicans who made that deal are backing away, giving succor to financial criminals everywhere.

This is unacceptable! Funding the IRS produces a DIRECT return to the federal coffers, fights inequality, and makes sure that the law is equally applied in our society. We MUST fund IRS enforcement in the BIF!
