In a Wall Street Journal op ed, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin called for a “pause” on the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better bill that represents President Biden’s agenda.

But this week, wildfires have consumed Lake Tahoe along with much of the Pacific Northwest, the strongest hurricane since Katrina hit New Orleans and brought floods as far north as New York City.

Oh, and unemployment benefits expired for millions, sucking $5 billion out of the economy while the pandemic is still claiming 1,000 lives per day.

Now is not the time to pause. Our country is in crisis and badly needs this investment.
