Donald Trump is picking his cabinet for his second presidency and just announced his selection of Lee Zeldin to run the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Lee Zeldin would be nothing more than a stand-in for Big Oil, and if he helms the EPA he’s certain to slash climate protections in favor of more profits for polluters.

During Trump’s first term, he rolled back 125 environmental protections and allowed polluters to dump harmful chemicals into our air and water—creating unsafe environments for rural, low-income, and Black and Brown communities on the frontlines.

With Lee Zeldin at the helm, the Environmental Protection Agency as we know it could cease to exist.

Zeldin has publicly questioned the validity of climate change and promised to “roll back” the environmental protections that safeguard our health, air, and water. He also voted to drastically cut the EPA’s budget by $1.9 billion and has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars in contributions from the oil and gas industries during his Congressional and gubernatorial campaigns.
