Sign the petition: Demand Congress regulate chemicals that contaminate our food and drinking water and jeopardize our health
Hundreds of everyday items, including the water most of us drink, contain highly toxic chemicals known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances)-- also called “forever chemicals” because they take thousands of years to degrade. They persist and accumulate in the environment and inside our bodies, and have been shown to cause health issues.
And now, these chemicals have contaminated our rainwater, making it unsafe to drink all over the world. Scientists have found the safe "planetary boundary" for PFAS has been exceeded, carrying immense consequences for environmental and human health.
The companies responsible for PFAS have been gaslighting us for years, knowing about their harmful impacts for decades. And they continue to spend billions of dollars lobbying against regulations.
The Biden Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced that they will be classifying certain PFAS chemicals as hazardous. However, with the Supreme Court severely limiting the EPA’s ability to enact regulations without Congressional legislation, Congress must also step in.
Sign the petition: Congress must regulate PFAS chemicals and hold polluting companies responsible.
