Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III only believes in states' rights when it's convenient.

The Attorney General has rescinded a federal policy that allowed marijuana to flourish in states like Colorado, Oregon and California. Now, U.S. Attorneys have more discretion to aggressively enforce federal laws against marijuana.

This will criminalize the smallest amounts of marijuana possession, leading to further mass incarceration that already targets communities of color. It's also a direct assault on patients who rely on marijuana for medical purposes.

It will also harm state economies that have benefited greatly from legalization.
