It’s way too easy for cops to get away with excessive force and blatant brutality. We cannot allow abusive and dangerous officers to be re-employed as police officers.

New York State Senator Brian Benjamin (D-Harlem) introduced the Wandering Officers Act to prevent police officers who were either fired or forced to resign for disciplinary reasons from being re-hired by different police departments.

Sen. Benjamin is urging legislators from surrounding states to join the cause and enact this legislation in their own states, creating a cohesive block of jurisdictions that do not hire fired cops.
