But Mitch McConnell just used the Filibuster to BLOCK this amazing legislation.

Contrary to popular belief, the Filibuster was not a part of the Founding Fathers’ vision for Senate procedure. Instead, the Filibuster was created almost entirely by accident. However, starting around the 1920’s, the Filibuster was used in the Senate with surgical precision to block Civil Rights legislation passed by the House. It became a hallmark of the Jim Crow Era.

Now, as massive Voter Suppression bills, which target communities of color, and unchecked Dark Money threaten to drown out what’s left of our democratic process, we refuse to let McConnell’s Filibuster stand. We refuse to let history repeat itself.
