San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refuses to stand for the National Anthem at football games.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," he said. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Colin Kaepernick is exercising his First Amendment right to sit down, and speaking out on the horrible epidemic of police killing unarmed black people every day.

For his bravery, he has been slandered as "unpatriotic" by right-wingers. It's wrong, and he deserves support for a very personal decision.
