Sign up for the 2nd IfNotNow Community Shabbat: #RitualOfResistance

In this moment, it is hard to put to words how we all feel. Anger and sadness. Shock and grief.

We know that in moments of crises we cannot be silent or isolated.

Last week, IfNotNow supported over 20 Community Shabbat dinners across the country. They were each a #RitualOfResistance.

We must continue.

We need to continue to show up for each other, knowing that there are millions of us that are frightened, that are worried, that don’t know what to expect next. And that we will hold each other through this.

We must continue to hold each other. And we must continue to fight.

The moment calls for deep reflection on what brought us to this precipice and a commitment to continue building powerful movements.

Let us come together this Friday, across the country, to hold each other close, and reflect before the enormous fight ahead.

We know that 75% of Jews voted against Trump. Our community overwhelmingly voted against misogyny and racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia. And, our history has taught us that we must show up early and often in times like these - for ourselves, and for those most vulnerable. This is the beginning, and we must support each other going forward.

We have so many tools already. We have song to uplift our spirits. We have food to provide us comfort. We have a fluency around text and study. We have a long history of struggle. We have a deep culture of storytelling to share our pain and bind us together. All of this we owe ourselves and our communities right now.

We have tools, let's use them together.
