Call To Ask Chair Ayala & Speaker Johnson to Schedule a VOTE on the Skip The Stuff Bill
Please take two minutes right now to make two critical phone calls:
First, please call Committee Chair Diana Ayala to urge her to schedule the committee vote on Skip the Stuff no later than next Weds, December 15th.
Then please call NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson to ask him to schedule a full council vote on the bill so we can pass Skip The Stuff before the City Council session ends later this month.
1. Dial: 212-788-6960 to reach Committee Chair Diana Ayala's Legislative Office.
2. When someone answers, feel free to use your own words or follow this short script:
"Hi, my name is YOUR NAME and I'm calling from YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD to urge Councilmember Ayala to please schedule a committee vote on the popular, effective Skip the Stuff Bill (1775-B) ASAP. The Skip the Stuff bill will help cut NYC's heavy single-use plastic footprint and climate change emissions, and also save our struggling restaurants money. The restaurant industry is in favor of this bill.
Time is running out to pass this simple, effective and popular bill this session and I hope she will make this a top priority and call for a committee vote immediately so we can get it passed."
