Central Americans fleeing political unrest and poverty in their home countries have the right to seek a life free from violence. Migrants endure an extremely dangerous journey to reach Mexico or the United States, where they face additional threats and are not guaranteed to receive asylum.

Volunteers are currently leading a caravan through Mexico to offer refugees protection against dangers such as extortion, sexual assault, and deportation without the chance to seek asylum. In response, President Trump has tweeted inflammatory lies to incite fear in the American public and called for the National Guard to be sent to the already militarized US-Mexico border.

These actions are not about national security—the Trump Administration is taking advantage of an ongoing humanitarian crisis to attack immigrant communities on both sides of the border.

In these times, we must make it clear that refugees are welcome here. Take the pledge now to say NO GUARD, NO WALL and reject the Trump Administration's racist agenda. We must defend the rights of the refugee caravan and of all migrants seeking safety and dignity in the face of violence!
