Stand with The Democracy Collaborative Workers Union
The Democracy Collaborative Workers’ Union is disappointed to share that we are currently in negotiations with management over discretionary layoffs impacting over one-third of our bargaining unit. The union does not believe that these layoffs are necessary and is extremely disappointed and concerned that management is pursuing this course of action during an unprecedented global pandemic. We are asking supporters to sign onto a letter calling on management to continue bargaining in good faith with the union and provide a severance package for the workers being laid off that reflects the scale of the impact this avoidable decision will have on their livelihoods.
Attn: The Democracy Collaborative Management
We the undersigned are concerned to hear that The Democracy Collaborative is moving forward with discretionary layoffs that will impact over one-third of the bargaining unit during an unprecedented global pandemic. We call on The Democracy Collaborative to continue bargaining in good faith with the union and provide a severance package for workers being laid-off that reflects the impact this avoidable decision will have on their livelihoods. As an organization that is working towards a more democratic and just economy, we expect that management will do the right thing and support its workers.
