Stand with Workers! Tell Congress to Extend the Airline Industry Stock Buyback Ban Now!

A record number of Americans are flying again since pandemic restrictions have been eased and with the increase in sales and traffic, airlines are making incredible returns.

Instead of investing in fixing operational problems that cause delays or increasing staffing to stop flight cancellations and meet the needs of the American people, airlines are planning to spend profits on stock buybacks to enrich wealthy shareholders and raise CEO pay.

This isn’t new. Congress banned U.S. airlines from spending on stock buybacks in 2020 after airlines spent $47 billion on buybacks in just the last decade. The problem is, now, the ban is about to expire in September.

Stand with Flight Attendants and demand Congress extend the ban by adding your name now.

Tell Congress:

A record number of Americans are flying again since pandemic restrictions have been eased and with the increase in sales and traffic, airlines are making incredible returns.

In 2020, Congress protected workers from corporate greed at the top by banning the industry from stock buybacks to enrich wealthy shareholders and increase CEO pay.

It worked. More of the Covid relief money given to the airline industry went to workers on the front lines, investing in jobs and healthcare, than in any other industry.

Now the stock buyback ban is set to expire in September. I urge you to extend the ban to protect jobs and force the airline industry to prioritize meeting the travel needs of the American people over enriching wealthy shareholders and CEOs.
