RBC sponsors many of the biggest arts events in so-called Canada, including Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

From June to October, Swifties across so-called Canada took action to call out their idol for partnering with RBC and helping to hide its human rights violations and climate crimes behind her shiny image.

In September, activists and film students disrupted the TIFF premiere calling on the festival to dump RBC as a sponsor. These activists highlighted RBC’s complicity in genocide from Turtle Island to Palestine.

This movement needs new voices, including filmmakers, arts workers, and pop music fans, to make common cause with Indigenous Land Defenders and hold RBC accountable for its role in fossil fuel financing, weapons investments, and Indigenous rights violations. It’s going to take all of us working together to stop RBC from co-opting the arts!
