Sign up for the Stop Extinction Challenge 2020!
This year has presented new and trying challenges for all of us. We are currently experiencing a devastating mass extinction event caused by human activities, and the coronavirus has changed our world and highlighted the critical importance of wildlife conservation anew. The good news is that the Endangered Species Coalition has a bold plan of action in response to the challenges we face: the Stop Extinction Challenge 2020.
What: The Stop Extinction Challenge is an annual event where everyday Americans from across the country meet with their Senators to advocate for wildlife. These nationwide lobby meetings are a powerful show of support for key legislation like the Endangered Species Act and demonstrate that wildlife must be a priority for our elected officials.
When: Thursday, August 20th, 2020 during the Congressional recess. Meetings are scheduled in the afternoon, in most states between 2:30 - 4:30pm.
Where: Virtual meetings will be held with Senators and their staff members all across the country.
What you can do: Join other activists from your state and meet with your Senator on August 20th!
You don’t need any previous experience; you only need to be excited about making your voice heard on this important issue. If you join the Challenge, you will receive:
Special training on how to lobby.
A packet of materials including talking points.
A free, limited edition Stop Extinction Challenge t-shirt by artist Roger Peet!
Once you sign up, you will receive more information about how to attend training and the details for the meeting in your state.
