Take action: every state must provide online voter registration

It’s 2022. Registering to vote online -- whether it’s on your smartphone, computer, laptop, or tablet -- just makes sense.

Most states understand this. In fact, online voter registration has been around for 20 years, ever since Arizona pioneered it back in 2002.

But did you know that 7 states -- from New England to the Deep South -- still don’t provide voters with this practical option, instead requiring paper registration forms?

Our right to vote shouldn’t depend upon our access to a printer or ability to travel in-person to a municipal office. Registering should be as quick and convenient as possible.

Sign the petition and tell the Secretaries of State of Arkansas, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming to immediately adopt online voter registration and make our democracy accessible to millions more eligible voters.

Because it’s easy, online voter registration increases participation -- particularly among communities of color and under-represented communities. It’s convenient, secure, and cost-efficient. It also lowers administrative costs for state and local governments.

Online voter registration is a modern, common sense solution that helps more people vote while saving taxpayer dollars.

Sign the petition today and demand that every state adopt online voter registration.
