Volunteer for Teach the Future!

We are currently accepting applications from all UK nations!

We're looking for students (age 14-26) to join us and push for better climate education.

Our team is expanding, and we want your help! Right now we are working on our plans for the General Election to make sure that the MPs who will represent us in the next Government will take action to improve climate education in schools. Join us as we turn the tables on parliamentary candidates by scoring them on our climate education report card. The results are displayed on our website so that voters can see how their local parliamentary candidates scored ahead of the UK General Election (date TBC).

We run online informal onboarding calls on the last Monday of every month on Zoom at 6pm. If you register, we'll get in touch before the next onboarding to send you an invite and joining details.

How does Teach the Future work?

We organise and communicate digitally, which means there is no expectation for you to attend events or travel to certain locations; it also means you can volunteer flexibly depending upon your timetable. Most of our meetings (which happen through Zoom) take place in the evening, so you can still volunteer with us during the school term.

What kind of things do volunteers do?

Volunteers can do a huge range of things, here are a few examples: creating social media content, planning campaign strategies, meeting with elected reps, fundraising, writing blog posts, communicating with our supporting organisations, speaking at events and so much more. We want to make our volunteering experience as accessible as possible, and we know everyone has different strengths and abilities so you will never have to do something you don't want to.

There's no expectation to already have experience in any kind of campaigning, through volunteering with us you'll gain the skills needed to be an essential part of any campaign.

For more information, see our Volunteer Handbook. If you have any questions about volunteering or have an accessibility requirement, please email hello@teachthefuture.uk
