TELL DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES: NO DONATIONS FROM THOSE WHO WANT TO DESTROY DEMOCRACY

After the horrors of January 6, 2021, many corporations and Political Action Committees (PACs) pledged to stop donations to the 147 Republicans that voted -- even after the attack -- to overturn the results of the 2020 Presidential election.

It wasn’t long before they broke their pledge. Now corporations are not only funding those lawmakers again as they run for re-election, they’re also funding some Democrats in races across the country.

At a time when right-wing extremists in state governments are signing bills into law that restrict voting rights and approve heavily gerrymandered legislative maps that suppress the power of communities of color, the last thing we can afford to do is be in cahoots with PACs who support Republicans who were willing to destroy democracy and install Donald Trump for a second term.

It’s no coincidence that most, if not all, of the Republicans who supported overturning the results of our election are also proponents of Trump’s “Big Lie” and support racist voter suppression laws. They know that they can’t win on their unpopular and bigoted policies, so they do everything in their power to spread disinformation and cheat their way to win. From Boeing, American Crystal Sugar, and Koch Industries1 to Toyota, AT&T and Citibank,2 evidently for these corporate PACs and more, that’s okay with them.

Democrats believe in a multiracial democracy. We believe in expanding access to the ballot box, not restricting it. And we believe in accepting the results of free and fair elections, even when we lose.

TELL DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES:
NO DONATIONS FROM THOSE WHO WANT TO DESTROY DEMOCRACY

We must stand on our principles and ask every Democrat to take the pledge. Add your name now
