New research shows that extremist American militia groups are significantly ramping up their recruitment activity on Facebook – and Facebook’s parent company, Meta, seems unwilling to do anything about it.

These extremist groups include familiar names from the coordinated attack on our U.S. Capitol, like the Proud Boys and Three Percenters, who have already demonstrated their interest in using violence to achieve their political goals.

If Facebook doesn’t significantly step up their enforcement activity immediately, we could soon see more political violence in the U.S. like the January 6th Capitol insurrection.
