Following the violent insurrection on January 6th, wherein Trump supporters seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 election forced an evacuation of the United States Capitol and delayed the certification of Joe Biden’s victory, Facebook and other social networks banned Donald Trump from their platforms.

Now, some of these corporations are considering lifting those bans―though Trump’s Big Lie is as prevalent as ever.

Facebook’s own Oversight Board ruled that they cannot maintain the status quo of an indefinite ban. Facebook must choose: Do they believe that Trump has learned his lesson and can be allowed back on Facebook, or is he enough of a danger to democracy that he merits a permanent ban?

That’s a no brainer: Donald Trump must be banned from Facebook permanently.

Facebook is already reeling from its role in spreading misinformation leading up to the 2020 election and afterwards.
