After reversing Roe v. Wade in 2022, the Supreme Court is now taking up a new case to decide whether doctors will be allowed to distribute Mifepristone — a key pill involved in medication abortions.

Over half of the abortions in the U.S. use mifepristone so this decision could effectively end medication abortions as we know it¹.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has called mifepristone “safe and effective” and has been used by millions of people since its approval in 2000. And yet, that hasn’t stopped right-wing groups from launching campaigns to ban the drug for good.

The White House denounced the cases against the drug as “extreme and dangerous,” calling it another attempt at banning abortion nationwide.
