Tell The DOJ To Investigate The Infiltration of Local Law Enforcement by White Supremacist Groups

TO: Merrick Garland, United States Attorney General

Internal documents show that the FBI has long been concerned about the infiltration of law enforcement by white supremacist groups.

Now, 275 sheriffs in 39 states are openly coordinating with a designated hate group in order to spread disinformation and promote a "majority-white population" agenda.

The Department of Justice must investigate the infiltration of local law enforcement by white supremacist groups starting with these sheriffs.

CAMPAIGN BACKGROUND

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has been designated a "hate group" because of its ties to white supremacist groups and eugenicists. The organization's founder, John Tanton, expressed his wish that "America remain a majority-white population."

Recently, FAIR circulated a letter to their list of local sheriffs who support their extremist agenda claiming that because of Joe Biden's immigration polices, "transnational gangs, guns, dangerous drugs and human trafficking" are "penetrating our neighborhoods throughout the interior of the United States" and overwhelming our nation’s public safety resources.

WALB in Georgia reported that Tom Hodgson—the Sheriff of Bristol County, MA and one of America's most anti-immigrant law enforcement officials with clear ties to FAIR—sent the letter to local media across the country.

FAIR's letter isn't about facts. It's about fear tactics designed to promote FAIR's "majority-white population" agenda in the local media by laundering the disinformation through official law enforcement sources.

The data show the current immigration surge has been happening since before Biden took office. In fact, during the last four months of Donald Trump’s presidency there was an 80 percent surge in apprehensions at the border.

We saw the results of this infiltration on January 6, when at least four police officers and three former officers were arrested for their participation in the deadly insurrection.

The new Attorney General, Merrick Garland, has a long history of fighting radical white nationalists. He oversaw the conviction of Timothy McVeigh during the Oklahoma bombing case.

Now, A.G. Garland must direct the DOJ and the FBI to investigate the infiltration of local law enforcement by white supremacist groups starting with the 275 sheriffs who are openly coordinating with a designated hate group in order to spread disinformation about immigrants.
