Thank you, President Obama!
Eight years ago, our country was on the brink of recession. Hundreds of thousands of Americans were losing their jobs each month. Millions of Americans lost their homes. Millions more saw their hard-earned savings vanish. The auto industry was on the verge of collapse. 44 million Americans were uninsured.
Then, Americans made history when they elected Barack Obama president of the United States. Under President Obama's leadership:
- We’ve added nearly 16 million new jobs since early 2010, and wages are growing again.
- Wages have grown faster over the past few years than at any time in the past forty years.
- More than 20 million previously uninsured Americans have health insurance, including more than 3 million children.
- We’ve enacted the most sweeping reforms since FDR to protect consumers and prevent a crisis on Wall Street from punishing Main Street ever.
President Obama’s leadership got us through the worst economic crisis in recent memory and helped put America back on track to economic progress. The lives of millions of Americans are better because of his efforts, and we'd be remiss if we didn't take the opportunity to formally thank him for his many efforts.
