On November 16, the Wake County Commission voted to raise base pay for county workers to $13.50/hour, joining a growing list of North Carolina communities like Greenville, Greensboro, Asheville, Durham, Chapel Hill and Carrboro - and localities across the United States - who have made it a priority to provide their employees with a living wage.
Wake County should be applauded for taking this step to pay their employees enough to make ends meet and creating economy-boosting jobs in the Wake County community.
In this season of Thanksgiving, let's give thanks to Wake County for raising wages!
