The U. S. Supreme Court will stop at nothing to increase state power over tribal lands. In the most recent decision regarding traditional tribal sovereignty, the Court officially gave the state of Oklahoma legal jurisdiction over Native land that had been previously under federal control. This is a major setback for the freedom of Native American tribes. Here at Four Directions, we work to protect and amplify Native voices, not suppress their freedoms and liberties.
