Use Your Voice to Ensure a Robust Gas Ban!

Public comment at committee meetings is critical to ensuring the new construction gas ban serves the public interest and passes without loopholes.

Eliminating natural gas in buildings will bring huge benefits to our city:

  • It will improve the health of tenants; natural gas use indoors is correlated with high asthma rates
  • It improves public safety, eliminating the risk of fires due to earthquakes and explosions
  • It is cheaper to build and results in lower bills over time due to efficient electric heating and cooling equipment
  • It's good for the climate: 35% of San Francisco's greenhouse gas emissions come from natural gas use in buildings.
