Vanguard just released its new net zero “target” and it is abysmal: what amounts to less than 5% of its total assets under management are currently in line with net zero by 2050. And they’re refusing to be proactive about making it better.

That means the vast majority of our hard earned money that we depend on Vanguard to invest thoughtfully will continue to fuel the climate crisis.

And let’s be clear: investing in fossil fuels is not a winning strategy. The climate crisis will cause the next big financial crisis, so Vanguard is failing to protect our financial futures.
