Cllrs Ed Plowden and Lisa Stone have managed to win £250,000 to refurbish the neglected play space in Victoria Park between Fraser Street, the primary school and the railway line.

This will be going alongside a new skate park that should be starting to be built this summer as a contractor has been recently appointed.

We already have a playground for younger children by the Lodge, which we are seeking still more funding to improve.

We therefore would like this to be a space for recreation and play, aimed at an older target group. We would like the space to be inclusive and welcoming for everyone, especially those who are feel less welcome at the moment.
